Abandoned oil wells are a hazard to us and our environment. Operators who can't afford to properly shut down and clean their sites often leave these areas full of toxic waste and dangerous objects.

These sites are a serious threat to young children and farm animals that come into contact with the unsafe materials contaminating the land and water.

There are thousands of these abandoned oil wells all over the state.
