A Conversation with Comptroller Glenn Hegar - Texas Tribune
Monday, January 09, 2023, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM CDT
Category: Outside Event

For eight years, Glenn Hegar has served as the state’s comptroller, a role that includes being treasurer, check writer, tax collector, procurement officer and revenue estimator.

In January, Hegar will announce the state’s biennial revenue estimate, which will tell state lawmakers how much they’ll have to spend when they write a new two-year budget in 2023. What will be the key takeaways
and recommendations from that estimate?

Join The Texas Tribune at 3:30 p.m. Central in Austin for a conversation with Comptroller Glenn Hegar on the biennial revenue estimate, how the state is enjoying a surplus amid economic fears nationally and where the state should consider allocating its extra money.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. at the Tribune’s Studio 919, 919 Congress Ave., Sixth Floor, in Austin.

The hourlong conversation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Parking will not be provided. Street and garage parking as well as ride-sharing are recommended.

This in-person event will be simultaneously streamed for virtual attendees and will be available to watch on demand afterward at texastribune.org/events.
